Attorney Saunders grew up in Laurens, South Carolina where her father was a respected trial attorney, Family Court Judge and ultimately a Circuit Court Judge until his untimely death in 2009. She now practices in his former law office, and has a satellite office in Greenville, SC.
Laura graduated from The University of South Carolina in 2001, and obtained her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2009. Prior to law school, Laura worked in sales, politics and eventually in state government for the Governor’s Office of Constituent Services from 2003-2006. During her years with the Governor’s Office, she learned the importance of advocacy for the people of South Carolina. This experience, along with her father’s influence, gave her the motivation to seek a law degree. Laura is a litigator at heart who fights for her clients in the courtroom.
After law school, Laura clerked for The Honorable Roger Couch, Circuit Court Judge in Spartanburg, SC and worked for a medical malpractice defense firm in Charleston, SC. Laura is a member of the South Carolina Bar, the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as the Laurens and Greenville County Bar Associations. Living in the Upstate, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, as well as riding and training her horse.
