The Law Offices of Laura M. Saunders, LLC opened in 2011 and has been serving Laurens and the surrounding community ever since.
Laura Saunders is an experienced attorney who works day in and day out to help you from the start to get the compensation you deserve from the insurance company when a family member is killed or after an injury. Laura regularly handles Auto Accident-related injury matters, Probate Court and Estate matters, as well as Family Court matters including divorce, child custody disputes, visitation and child support disputes.

Laura grew up in Laurens, South Carolina where her father was a respected trial attorney, Family Court Judge and ultimately a Circuit Court Judge until his untimely death in 2009. She now practices in his former law office in Laurens.
Laura graduated from The University of South Carolina with a degree in Political Science in 2001 and obtained her Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2009. In law school, Laura was a member of the Federal Courts Law Review and the Honor Council. Prior to law school, Laura worked in sales, politics and eventually in state government for the Governor’s Office of Constituent Services from 2003-2006. During her years with the Governor’s Office, she learned the importance of advocacy for the people of South Carolina. This experience, along with her father’s influence, gave her the motivation to seek a law degree.
After law school, Laura clerked for The Honorable Roger Couch, Circuit Court Judge in Spartanburg, SC and worked for a medical malpractice defense firm in Charleston, SC until she opened her firm in Laurens in 2011.
Laura is a member of the South Carolina Bar as well as the Laurens and Greenville County Bar Associations. Laura is married to William MacAllister Coxe, who is a private client advisor for a wealth management firm in Greenville. Laura devotes her time to public service, serving as a part-time Magistrate Judge for Greenville County at the Fairview Austin Summary Court. Laura is a dressage enthusiast, and enjoys training and showing her Trakehner horse, Jiovanna LL, along with traveling with her husband and family. Laura is a member of the American Trakehner Association and serves as a member of the ATA Board of Trustees.
Heather Faulkner is an experienced attorney who has a passion for helping others even in their most difficult moments. Heather focuses her practice in family law, and this includes divorce, child custody, visitation, child support, division of assets, and serving as guardian ad litem. Heather also has experience pursuing and defending those who have been affected by domestic violence with Orders of Protection and Restraining Orders. Heather believes that the family is the most important aspect of someone’s life, and therefore Heather strives to assist you every step of the way. Heather can provide personalized service when your family needs assistance most. Heather can also assist in other matters such as probate and wills.
Heather is a resident of Laurens County and graduated from Presbyterian College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies and German with a minor in Chinese Studies. Heather worked as a legal assistant for four years at The Law Offices of Laura M. Saunders before she left to obtain her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, Heather competed on the Mock Trial team and worked as a law clerk for Protection and Advocacy for People with Disabilities, South Carolina Appleseed, and South Carolina Legal Services. Heather is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Greenville County Bar Association, and Laurens County Bar Association. Heather worked at South Carolina Legal Services prior to joining The Law Offices of Laura M. Saunders where she practiced in family law, housing, and social security matters.
Heather enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Heather enjoys playing with her German Shepherd, Svenja, and her horses in her spare time.
Brenda was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and moved to South Carolina with her family in 1999. Family is Brenda’s highest priority, yet she has always maintained a passion for the process of law and finding justice for people that are involved in the legal system. Brenda has years of experience working with children and families by assisting individuals through the legal process.
Brenda began advocating for children through the CASA program in 2014 and continued her education to become a lay Guardian ad litem in 2015. Brenda embraces the responsibility of advocating for the best interests of children and is humbled with each opportunity to be a voice for a child in our courts. Brenda regularly appears in Court as a Guardian ad litem in private Family Court cases.
Brenda enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren and her dog. She believes that each day comes with new opportunities and appreciates living a simple life consisting of friends, family and assisting others through legal challenges. Brenda became the backbone of the Law Offices of Laura M. Saunders in 2017.
Sheila Lindsey joined our office in October 2023 after her retirement from Greenville County. Sheila started her career at Greenville County Summary Court in November 1988 and retired September 2023. Many of those years her roles were Administrative Assistant and Office Manager. Sheila had the pleasure of working for eight Judges and many law enforcement officers during her 35-year career. With knowledge and experience in Criminal, Traffic and Civil courts, she decided to learn and assist others in different matters leading her to join our office. Sheila and her husband Scott have been married for 36 years. After raising her two sons in Taylors, SC they moved to Gray Court. Sheila loves spending time with her family, the outdoors, her animals and especially her small farm.
